I really enjoyed learning about creating websites as well as the wikispace. Both of these tools will be great for advancing my career.
  1. How have you met your own personal goals for learning about technology integration?
I have added additional technology tools into my pocket. I have a better understanding of what goes into planning lessons that utilize technology.
  1. Do you have any new goals? What are your plans for reaching your new goals and your long-term goals after this course is over?
I want to possibly take web design courses and additional computer courses to add to my bag of tricks. After the certificate program I have to decide if I’m going to pursue the Master’s degree or do a different degree or simply work. I’m not sure which path I’m going to follow yet.

Online Teaching

As I am not a teacher I find this blog a bit more challenging to answer. On that note I do believe any of the outlined technologies in Michigan Merit Curriculum Online Experience Guideline Companion Document can be utilized in a variety of subject areas. If I were teaching I would utilize Wikis, Google Docs, and Discussion boards; just to name a few. I would probably utilize asynchronous and synchronous pedagogies. I may use other pedagogies like Team based learning, Instructional theory depending on the lesson being taught. I really do not think any of the technologies outlined in Michigan Merit Curriculum Online Experience Guideline Companion Document would be harder to use with students. I believe students sometimes have a better grasp on technology then their teachers. Students utilize technology in their everyday lives and are adept at it.
