Personal Learning Reflection

1.    What are some things that you have learned about effective teaching strategies when integrating technology? I have learned you need patience when using new technologies and integrating them into teaching. I have learned you must be organized when utilizing these technologies as well as being a safe and courteous digital citizen.

2.    How did integrating the Internet help you think about and evaluate uses of technology? As this questions pertains to my personal growth plan I have not been able to utilize any of the technologies in my Teaching Assistant position as I have only done PowerPoint presentations. As it pertains to the in general aspect of my life goals the internet is a wealth of information that can be overwhelming at times.

3.    Which of the assignments that you turned in do you feel really exemplifies good teaching with technology and why? I felt the personal learning network assignment exemplifies good teaching with technology because it is a showcase of the technology tools that are at a teachers or educators disposal.

4.    How have you met your goals established in your Personal Growth Plan? I do not feel like I have met many of my goals set forth in my personal growth plan. All I have done for my TA-ship has been PowerPoints and I have not had the opportunity to utilize the technologies I have learned. I also feel I might have set a lofty goal of mastering all the new technologies I have learned. I have an understanding of all the new technologies, however, not a mastering of them. I believe this has been hindered by my obsession and need to gain full-time work.

5.    Do you have any new goals? What are your plans for reaching your new goals and your long-term goals after this course is over? I would like to have found gainful employment so that I can focus on my courses. I would like to continue to ‘play’ with the new technologies I have learned. I am going to continue learning.
